There was an old creepypasta about a guy going insane with rage, his friend checks out the house and there are monitors behind the mirrors subliminally spamming violent images, vibrating wires in the walls that fucks with the head and hidden cameras recording what is going on.

Harlan ellison is quite a good read. Definitely up there with lovecraft and the like in terms of spooky stories. If you haven't heard of him go check out something by him, most of his books are collections of short stories and most of them are great.
