SCP series, /x/.

im reading through them (i did the same with the holder series, i just enjoy reading them all in one sitting), and now, this is the second time i've seen SCP-636 mentioned. is there an SCP-636 written? In SCP-782, it says "was constructed from part of the engine core of SCP-636." then again in SCP-861, "armed with Class Eleven munitions such as those recovered from SCP-636."

It doesn't bother me much, but to see it mentioned twice without their actually being one annoys me. So, I ask of you, is there an SCP-636 hidden somewhere, and i just never read it?

http://editthis.info/scp_wiki/SCP_Series

List of all found SCPs and no mention of a 636.

MACGUFFINED.

The SCP's aren't supposed to reference one another; that's like the only rule, faggots.

OP: If it bothers you so much then make one faggot.

No actually it's not at all, but there are other rules to prevent it from getting as fucked as the holders series did.
>> Anonymous
i considered making one, but by the specifications in both SCP-782 and SCP-861 make it almost impossible to make one that would fit into the SCP series. i was just wondering if there was already one and those two were based off of it.
>> SCP-013 !wBhuM0dwZA

Maybe someone thought of it as like an...armored vehicle of some sort with storage space? Which would account for an "engine core", as well as the munitions recovered.

>>499192
but is it possible that an armored car's engine core could support a Quadrapole Mass Collider, whatever that seems to be? it would have to be a big fucking car
>> Anonymous
My guess was that it was a spacecraft of somekind, and it was destroyed on impact.

If it doesn't exist anymore, there's no reason to write a containment procedure for it.

this is the most plausible explanation.
>> SCP-013 !wBhuM0dwZA
>>499194
Note that I said vehicle, not car. But I still like 499195's explanation better.
>> SCP-013 !wBhuM0dwZA

Possibly a Containment Procedure for the wreckage?

What are the rules of SCP?
Pardon my ignorance. I've seen plenty, but where the fuck do they come from?

It's like the holders series. Any dumbass who wants to writes one and posts it on a board like this.

>>499342
Yeah I gathered that sort of, but then... WTF is the holder series?
I mean is this all based off a book or film or something? Where did it start?
>> Anonymous
>>499355
Some dumbass wrote it and put it on a board like this.

Oh.

Quadrapole instruments are used to calculate mass fractions of molecules (mass spectrometry) Perhaps SCP-636 refers to some soft of science vessel, or craft equipped for scientific exploration.
>> Anonymous
It's simple. One person writes a story. Someone else sees that story and thinks it's cool, and being totally original, they decide to rip it off by making their own.

A system of rules grows up around the stories naturally describing more or less how to write more that fit in with the series, and it just keeps snowballing.

so then, we can all agree that SCP-636 is definitely a vessel(extraterrestrial?) that has a engine core and a significant amount of weapons. it also has been 'destroyed, and/or been terminated'.

im willing to write it(op here BTW), if nobody else wants to do it instead.

here are the rules, apparently, made by /x/, found via wikichan(/x/ created holder and SCP, apparently.)

SCP creepypasta is created in three steps:

1. Find creepy picture

2. Imagine what horrible things it could do to the world

3. Outline procedure to keep it contained.

/x/ has specified rules to make sure it doesn't get as fagged up as the Holders series eventually became.

Do not reuse specs.

Find the pic first.

Double-check your logic outside of the tubes.

Don't change up conditions.

Get approval, preferably via IRC, from six oldfags before posting. In the event of three users suggesting that it negatively reflects the series at large, delete or revise it at once.
