SCP Anonymous
You gotta figure...

The people working as SCP agents must make a ridiculous amount of money.
>> Anonymous
Don't most of them DIE from it?
>> Anonymous
No.

There is no shadow organization called SCP. There are no SCP agents; there are no secret labs, and there is no SCP-001. Quit perseverating over such idle conjecture. You are absolutely safe.
>> Cog
Lots of hazard pay i'm sure...but you have to imagine, if you lasted out the first couple of assignments, you'd learn what to do and not do. Recovery missions would really really suck...at least when the objects go into SCP, you have some kind of idea what to do.
>> Anonymous
I heard that some of them come here and give us info about the SCP just to make sure no one will believe a person who REALLY find out about them.
>> Anonymous
>>584389
But there's no way to enjoy the money from it. If you quit the job, you die.

We know this how?

Read some of the SCP. Most of them says that people will be terminated for A REALLY LARGE NUMBER of reasons.

They don't care too much about their agents lives. And they don't want it to become well know for the public.
>> Anonymous
>>584419

That's true, but I think some kind of MIB style mind-wipe would be preferable to huge body counts.
>> Cog
Well, only a few SCP Protocols actually state that subjects will be killed. It's somewhat open to interpretation as to how a agent is "terminated". I think a mind wipe would be very possible. I still wanna get a SCP Foundation site started...get people who add to it added under a personnel listing as doctors, guards, containment staff, recovery agents...

It's a great idea, but doesn't make sense, since it's a secret agency... Unless you make the site to look like and ARG, so you must have a password to acess the personal files etc etc
>> Anonymous
>>584493

Yeah, but a widely circulated password or something.

Ideally, you'd want it to maintain the believability of a secret website, but not be a dense mindgame like the Aperture Science website.

Just something fun for people to read the SCP stuff on without requiring them to suspend disbelief.
>> Cog
well, the current idea was to make it seem like the site had a massive security failure, and that's how the SCP information leaked out. it'd pop up with a password, then just let you in without after a few seconds. The information would be really clear in some spots, and some would be almost totally degraded away. that way, it would seem somewhat real, but explain the free access

>>584503
ala the ilovebees.com sort of idea?
>> Cog
Yes, somewhat. I don't have the skills for it at all, but if someone else is pretty good at web design, they might be able to take a crack at it.

I propose we set up a website for an imaginary company claiming to have governments among it's clients. The company would deal with containing and storing whatever the client needs to be stored. We will need a normally looking company portal for it (a few pages like about us, contact info (my best guess is to make the phone number something weird, like when you dial certain numbers you'll only get silence, there are also numbers for monitoring equipment, the data is read out by a synthesizer)). Then we need to put the SCP documents in an obscure catalogue like <thenameofthewebsite>.com/a/old/rm123/ and place them among many different, non-related, not creepy .docs.

WARNING: IF WE ARE TO USE THE .DOC FORMAT, WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THE FILE METADATA IS SOMETHING OFFICIALY LOOKING.

This should work out pretty well.

Well thing about FBI, CIA and Secret Service Agents. They gotta make REAL good money, but the reason they got the job means they're intelligent enough to know how to survive and to use the money and have a family without breaking SCP protocols.
>> Cog
I love that idea...maybe have more and more info leak as some kind of mass containment failure ramps up. I think it could work. I'd be happy to help however i can...i'm good for ideas, at least. it would be very cool, and probably get a ton of people into it...

Also, i agree that SCP agents have to be kinda cream of the crop staffers. Yes, there's a high mortality rate, but consider what they are working with! I think SCP Agents and staff would be in a class all by themselves.
>> Anonymous
They probably use the corpses of dead agents to feed some SCP.

The website idea is great, but I don't know if there's someone here on /x/ that could do it. We have some artfags, but I never saw a webdesigner here.
>> Cog
well...does anyone know a web designer who would do it? the SCP are going to go the way of the Holders if it keeps up the way it is. it's too cool of an idea to just let die. A group of people need to sift through all the SCP, get all the good ones, and do something with them. I personally think the website is the best idea so far.

I would say i'd try and help dig through them all, but honestly, i suck. I write a lot of them, but not all are that good, and there is no way i'll pass judgment on someone else's hard work. I'll probably end up doing normal creepypasta if the SCP tank, but i'd love to see it all go on to bigger and better things.

I am. Well I can at least provide the asthetics to making it look real as long as you give me ideas.

Also where did this SCP thing come from? And where are all the stuff on it. Even if it is fake, which I am still skeptical about it, I still like reading the things, its interesting and helps makes idea for wierd monsters.... ne who get bak to me

>>584381

It's a thankless job and you'll probably be killed in the process, but the pay is good.
>> Anonymous
Considering the amount of SCP crap here i might as well contribute to OP's.
There is no pay involved.
SCP agents are actually clones of random individuals and are trained for specific task of maintaining SCP items. They are Expendable

Some standard looking corporate website, with some logo like "Universal Containment Services" and a picture of a group of people. The site will only need a few pages but it must look legit.

The contact page can have some weird numbers listed here:

SCP got started off of a creepypasta about a statue that will kill people by breaking their necks when nobody is watching. I'd be happy to provide ideas and such. http://editthis.info/scp_wiki/SCP_Series
This is the wiki, and has all the ones that are made thus far.

I think this could be a very cool idea, have the site degrade more and more as security fails at Site 19, I can try making supplement documents as well, reports and such of containment failure, or records of the objects pre-containment.
>> Anonymous
Thing is though, can we have some kind of rigorous approval procedure for the ones we put up???

Let's face it, a lot of the SCPs are complete uninteresting horse shit. None compare to the original sreepypasta.

So if we're gonna make this a real cool thing, we need to up our standards for the pasta itself.

Only about 20% of the current ones, if even that, are worth making the final cut imo.

ahhh i saw that episode of goosebumps, those were some creepy gnomes.

Who?

We could use a CMS for the fake website, like Joomla, or Mambo.
