I love the concept of the holders. There's even a website about them.

My brother and I plan to write a book based on the idea of holders, but taking the stories from Anon is a bad idea all around. Might piss some people off. If you want to make a book/movie, re-write the stories but keep point you find most pivital, if you can't figure out how to change them. It's the best way, really.

Here's what you do. The problem with Holders (and SCP, dear god what is wrong with you people you ruin everything) is that it went on beyond the first story. If Holders was remade, it should be done from scratch. Read the Holder of the End, get an idea, and make a whole new story on the concept of objects that can end the world.

The Knife is more badass. Especially in combination with the Mercury Hand... If a seeker has both of them, a gun-wielding attacker would hit "nothing but air" (apologies to the Matrix) while he calmly walks up to you and cuts you into pieces. Maybe with a very slight, creepy smile on his face.

Already started something like this, awhile back when I was a newfag and thought the Holders series was OMG TEH GREATEST THING EVAR:

The Seeker: A journey through madness

I found the instructions behind the old run down school. It was a small piece of parchment, worn from sitting outside for god knows how long. Curiosity drove me to pick it up.. it was odd. It was something about.. an object. I laughed it off, despite its horrific detail. Later that day I showed my friends and they got a big kick out of it. They told me I should try it, just for the hell of it. Specifically, on this piece of parchment were instructions, telling me how to retrieve an item. At the end, it tells me this item is the second of 538. And scribbled in a hurried, sloppy way is ominous sentence: "It is up to you whether they be joined, or not."

My friends finally got me to try it, to try and see if this item is all a bunch of garbage or if its real. I assume its a joke, to make me look stupid, but.. its just so.. specific.

I arrived at the asylum, just on the outskirts of my town. It was a small, one story building. I assumed they had more floors underground? The note said to go to any mental institution or halfway house I could get to.

I approached the front desk, and asked the receptionist if I could speak to "The Holder of the Beginning." The pristine lady gave me a smirk, said "follow me.".. Just like the note predicted.

I followed her down a flight of stairs, through a long hallway, down two more flights of stairs, and then we entered a very creepy, empty hallway. The nurse quickly paced away leaving me in the hall. There was no sound. At all. I took a few steps down the hall, and not even my footsteps made a noise. It was odd. I remember feeling very sick at this point, since.. the note was real. What I thought was fake, was real. And what was to come was what made me feel sick the most. The note told of a horrible creature that I must speak to, to retrieve this.. item. I walked down the hall, trying to speak, to make a sound. But no sound came out. I screamed, as hard as I could, but nothing echoed through the hall. Nothing.

As I reached the end of the hall, a door stood towering in front of me. I grasped the door handle, shaking. The note told me not to go back or it could be my life. Could this be some crazy prank set up to scare me? And how did that explain the lack of noise? Thats.. unearthly.

The door creaked open and a smell hit my nose. It wasn't a horrible smell.. but a disturbing one. The smell of perfume. Just like in the note! The room was one of those completely white, padded cell rooms. A single woman sat in the middle of the floor. She sat with grace, and she looked pretty. It all just didn't fit..

"Is this a joke?" I asked, but my voice droned away as if it were nothing. I looked back at the note, and it said the only words that would be heard was "Why were they seperated?"

"..Why..were they seperated?" I asked, in utter confusion and sickness.

"Mr dear, sit down and I will tell you a story. A story of why the items were seperated." spoke the woman. Her voice was undeniably the most horrible sound I had ever heard. It was as if.. as if she had two other voices speaking with her. One, her happy, squeaky voice, the second, a deep, grisly voice, and the last, a choking.. gasping voice. It was hard to understand at first, but yet, I knew what she was saying. I plopped down on the padded floor as if hypnotized by this strange woman.

"Many.. many years ago, there were 2538 objects. But 2000 of them had been lost. Some believed the items must be brought together, some believe they should never come together. They were eventually all seperated. Do you really wish to know why they were seperated? Once I tell you, you can never go back. You will be scarred, and must suffer with the information I plant in your mind." spoke the woman.

"I.. yes, yes I want to know." I said, dazed to the point where I couldn't think straight.

Her lips parted, and began speaking of the most horrific events in history. Every single story of rape, beatings, violence, murder. In disgusting detail. It seemed to take forever, and yet no time passed. Finally, she stopped speaking. She ended as fast as she had started. My jaw was dropped open, and remained there. Her unspeakable stories burned into my mind.. I knew I would never forget them.

"Now.. this is yours. This is object 2 of the 538. You are now part of the Seekers. And it is up to you whether to bring the objects together, or destroy them. Follow the rumors, the myths, to the next of the objects. You must retrieve as many as you can before it is too late." As the lady spoke, she slowly began to pull at her index finger. It ripped off like paper, and she handed it to me. Her finger.. was one of the objects?

I accepted her finger, and it spurted a small fountain of blood that dripped down my hand onto the white padded floors. I wasn't even fazed by it- her stories had made me.. jaded.

I woke up.. hours.. later, outside the asylum. At first I wondered if it was a dream, until I realized in my right hand was the bony finger of the woman. In my left hand was another note. More crisp than the last.. it was new. On the top, three words were written "Holder of Eternity."

I didn't know whether or not I should continue to follow these. My mind thought back to the horrible stories that woman told me.. how could I continue this? I wish I had stopped. I could have. I wish I did, for I could not even imagine the unspeakable horrors that would follow me through my journey.

How would 4chan possibly stay focused long enough to make a movie?

Well, I've seen some so-so and a few nays (awww) but when it comes right down to it noone I know, other than Uwe Boll...ew, would make a movie like this.
A book is still plausible though, have a few main seekers focus on a few items. The others can just be picked up by random seekers or something. That way we can still have a few main guys fighting and stuff, because I really like how alot of the items have conflicting powers, it just begging for a Hollywood fight scene!
SO to sum it up, sounds cool, probably wont do it, but if I need something for a school project or just feel like writing a few years long novel. I promise you guys holders will be my first start!

The whole point of these is that each one is horrible beyond your comprehension. The Holder of the End doesn't even fucking say what the object is, much less where it comes from, what it is for, or what precisely it could do to a human's mind.

And a movie, for the most part, wouldn't be about those things anyway. It would be about a group of characters trying to find (or survive) the object, and all the horror surrounding the actual "holder" (whoever that girl is; or other persons who have been exposed for long periods to the objects).

Okay, let me make this clear. The show is NOT just people under going the trial of the Objects. Not in the least. I'm three episodes in and I've only done it ONCE because I felt I needed to pay homage to the original stories and explain to the viewers how exactly the Objects are found.

Each script averages at around 60 pages, the story is CHARACTER DRIVEN, and there are no emo kids. Since these three things seem to be why people usually doubt it could make a good TV show, I have solved that problem. Now kindly help or shut the fuck up.
